Air Purifier
Selecting Air Purifier

We are all very aware of air pollution and its affects on us. However, most of us would relate the term air pollution to outdoor conditions and neglect to do anything about indoor air pollution. Since most of us spend over 85% of our time indoors, this is truly an issue to be more concerned with: indoor air can often be more polluted than outdoor air.  Polluted indoor air can cause allergies, discomfort, asthma symptoms and long term respiratory problems. Air purifiers were invented just for that. They are designed to filter out dust and pets hair, remove odors, smoke and other fumes and kill mold and bacteria. If you are looking for an air purifier, there is some research you must do first.

What to look for?

Not all air purifiers are made equal and there some variations in quality, capabilities, size and price. When considering purchasing an air purifier, you should first consider the size and shape of the interior space, the number of rooms you intend to purify and the amount and type of known pollution (pets, cigarettes smoke, kitchen smells etc'). Also take into consideration the level of traffic inside your home (children tend to increase average dust density). You have to decide whether you need small local and independently operated units in each rooms or a centralize unit for the whole house.

Before you buy

Once you know better what your exact needs are, do shop around. Check few vendors online or over the phone. Ask questions regarding their products, the different models available, installation requirements, warrantee and prices.
